Sorry for not posting pictures for a while

Sun May 17, 2009, 4:27 AM
I did not update my site quite for a while. That is because I was on vacation since easter and I did not take the time to resize my photos to post them. Also I do prepare an exhibition at the moment which demands my whole concentration. So sorry for that "STILLSTAND" and I hope, soon to post new pictures . Thanks for your patience
Peter

deviantID

I had several comments to my pictures, where people reacted disturbed, worried for the model, or shocked by the girls emaciated looking body form.

So I think, I need to explain, why I picture and post such skinny models in this page and why I do draw and paint these emaciated bodies.

FIRST OF ALL:
This page is not about "eating" or "not eating" and it is also not meant as a TRIGGER PAGE for people who suffer an ED.

I with great interest am reading all your different comments, because some are very positive and seem to see more the tecnical or artistic side of my pictures, lets say,in an esthetic context how the picture has been taken.
Others find the situation combined with my unnaturally thin model embarassing, disturbing and disgusting.
An " excuse me" to them.

Because there where many questions of concern, SECONDLY a few words about this particular model, so you need not be worried about her health.
She is phisically healthy and does not have an Eating Disorder . She always has been unnaturally thin though, equally like her mother and her grandmother. On some older pictures here she was on the edge of what is healthy, but not in danger. That was due to private stress. She eats regulary, several times a day and normal amounts. But no Pasta and no Pizza. She does not purge. She stretches and trains her body every day for several hours, as she works also as a professional model,a contortionist sometimes. She studied ballet in Russia as a child, her sexuality is normal and she is mother of a 14 year old boy. So there is no need to worry about her health, to feed her or to medicate her. She is an adult and concious of what she does. She loves herself and considers herself as beautiful, ignoring other people who often stare after her in public. She sees her body as her capital, that means she does care for it even if she defines herself a " SKINNY MODEL"

THE PRESSURE TO BE THIN
Probabely it all started with Twiggy and the beginning of the POP culture. Models became stars and stars already were role models. Then there were the Waif Models to follow in the 90ies and the beginning of THIN IS IN, its pressure in society, the spread of Eating Disorders and the mass media who discovered Anorexia as a major topic to sell .

So today my drawings and pictures, set intoo this enviroment appear in a different light.
So...do we have to draw a line then to modern behavour and fashion and put questions, what is possible or not, what has to be considered as beautiful or not, and which opinion has to be accepted and which not? Are we still allowed to find extremely thin bodies beautiful, even if they do not look healthy? And can we post or picture such a topic, or does it collide automatically with the ongoing discussion and average public opinion in media? Do we really have to ban Skinny Models from runways because ou society os not mature enough to let value the people on their own? Do we need a modern censorship and a dictat of what has to be beautiful and what should not be allowed to be seen as that? Could we instead inform or educate better and differ between various point of views and estetic standards? Can´t we not accept every single person as unique and different. Or do 500 million people have to copy the look and habit of only 500 tars and just because they are famous and stand for success, fortune and happiness?

Can´t we accept, that Beauty lies in the Eye of the Beholder?

Or has it become impossible today, to watch my pictures for example, without automatically thinking of Anorexia and other situations, where emaciated bodies only stand for as a sympton? Shouldn´t we focus the ongoing Eating Disorder Debate in our western modern society, with increasing numbers of young people suffering an ED, more at the psycological reasons and personal sufferings that "ARE" this illness of our society? Not only at the "SYMPTOM" ? Their SKINNINESS ? The most visible one, without giving a try of getting into the mind of that person instead of remaining superficial, as our society has become? Without even trying to imagine the pain and sufferings that had created it, done by members within their own families, relatives and friends? All that lies hidden in the inner of such a person , UNVISIBLE .

SOMETHING ABOUT ME and what makes me portray and draw such skinny bodies?

Since I was a kid, I was courious and fascinated of seeing the "functionings" in a body. Much better visible in thinner persons.
One was my aunt. As a young girl she was suposed to die from tubercolosis, but then she miraculously survived. The rest of her life she lived on nothing else but whiskey and cigarettes. She died 96 years old as a quite known painter in England. She was the skinnest person I knew and she was skillful, always elegant and she had plenty of humour.
Later, when i was a boy it where the Egon SCHIELE drawings that fascinated me most.
Today Schiele one of the most famous Artist in the World and also known for his nudes , that very often showed emaciated or very thin and angular bodies. Well , my mother owned a mapplet of 15 original drawings of that artist. She bought them when she was a student at the flea market in Vienna. In the fifties they still where considered as heavily pornographic. Some of his drawings would be considered even today as that, and Schiele himself also had to spend a month in jail for their content..

Well, I as a boy loved to watch these drawings( they were considered as pornography at these times) secretliy together with my elder brother when, my mother was away. The drawings were hidden in a closet. Unfortunately he one day took them to school for his class mates, to have fun with and because they almost got caught ,the boys dumped them in the toilet . Today a single drawing of Schiele would value at least 200 000 dollar.
Our mother was more than a little bit mad on us.
.

Well , anyway, for so many times I had been watching these drawings that they became to me a kind of synonyme of beauty. The human body even beautiful at its skinniest. With its visible anatomy a perfect wonder o nature . And Schiele still inspires me today.

Then it was during a Ballett Show, where I could not get my eyes off one of the skinniest dancers. Her extremely thin and fragile body highlighted so that that all her anatomy was visible. How mussels tendons and bones, cooperated together. Combined with her feeling for rythm and music plus body-control and human skill, the perfect tool for her to express that heavenly eleagance and grace. At least to me her appearence had that effect. Ant until today I search for and try to make visible that very different kind of beauty.

Beauty in the eye of the beholder.

Inna is beautiful and your photography of her is superb. Thank you for sharing your great work with the rest of the world. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work and seeing more of the lovely Inna.

Just curious; do you ever plan on photographing Inna while she's barefoot? I would really like to see her bare feet...no nylons or flip flops or heels...just her naked and exposed feet...with such a gorgeous face and pretty body, I'm sure her feet are as attractive as the rest of her.

Oops my time is all wrong. It's not over 4 month ago with no Inna update at that website but almost 1 year! Since August 2008! I wonder what has gone wrong?
:iconluvslim:
I am mezmorised by Inna's beauty and elegance. Absoluteskinny.com has only 2 updates of her about 4 month ago and no more since then even though they promised lots of updates with videos and pics. I don't know what their problem is. I think she should start her own website. She is quite talented and should put that to good use.
What do you say?
:iconlove-and-mascara:
